Everyone of us eats and drinks, from the well-laden table of Nature,to nourish our body. These
foods are our source of energy. By energy, I am not referring to only the glucose and calories,
but also to the indirect solar energy(prana) from the sun. What most of us don’t realize is that
we often don’t fully activate and fully absorb those energies inherent in our foods. Apart from
our habits of always reducing the energy contents of our foods by denaturing them through
overcooking, adding harsh chemicals and over storage, we are also guilty of not activating
them.
We humans with our spiritual inner core are meant to be masters on this physical plane. We are
supposed to influence every other things-living and non living on earth. In truth, our inner core,
the spirit needs no physical nourishment to exist and function, but our physical bodies
definitely needs those nourishment as foods and drinks. It is now fully established that the
human spirit through mind and speech influences everything we consume, especially our foods
and water. A Japanese scientist,a professor emeritus, Emoto Masaru , (July 22, 1943 – October
17, 2014) was an author, researcher, photographer and entrepreneur, whose works proved
that human consciousness has an effect on the molecular structure of water . Emoto’s research
continued over the years, and his early work explored his theory that water could react to
positive thoughts and words, and that polluted water could be purified through prayer and
positive visualization. He used high powered microscopes to observe the crystalline structures
of water subjected to different speeches and thoughts, positive for some, negative for others.
The conclusion was that the water subjected to positive words and thoughts formed crystals of
exquisite designs, while those subjected to negative words and thoughts formed crystals of ugly
designs.
Other researchers also worked on the effects of words and thoughts on prepared foods. In a
particular case study, two plates of cooked rice were placed in different glass containers, and
labelled A and B. The contents of glass A was subjected to positive speeches and thoughts like
you are good, you are blessed, we love you. Another group focused on the other glass B,
bombarding it with negative words and thoughts such as you are cursed, you are useless, we
hate you. After about 10 days, the two plates of rice were brought out. The rice from glass A
was found to be still fresh, as if it was just cooked the previous day. Meanwhile the rice from
glass B was found to be rotten beyond normal, all sorts of moulds and fungus were growing
from it.
From those research works we can deduce that our words and thoughts definitely have effects
on our foods and water, either activating them to a higher energy vibration, or rendering them
inactive/less active at a lower energy vibration. So, the big question is: how do we activate our
food and water before consuming them? All we need to do is to be simply fully conscious prior
to consuming them. We need to be filled with gratitude for being allowed to get the food from
the reserves of Nature. We also need to “speak life” into the food or water. This may take the
form of a formal prayer like “The Grace”,or any other similar prayers specific for starting a meal,
or for those who don’t use formal prayers, simply sparing a few seconds to focus positive
thoughts on the food/water prior to eating/drinking.
Also, a very good way to be fully conscious and be in the present with the food is to eat slowly,
chewing thoroughly, and actually taking one’s time to fully savour the delicacy. This is why it
said that those who eat slowly gets more benefits from their food compared with those who
eat hurriedly. Proper mastication helps the digestive enzymes to fully act on the foods, so that
they may release all their inherent energy to the eater.
Whatever food you eat, eat it with full presence of mind, in gratitude, slowly and joyfully. By so
doing, you are blessing and thereby activating the food, which will in turn bless and activate
you.
